Project LEAD
![]() |
Project LEAD is a scientific training program offered by the National Breast Cancer Coalition. Four to six days of molecular biology and epidemiology (the area of medical science that studies causes of disease and effects within a particular population) will allow advocates to be knowledgeable about the issues when sitting at the table where public policy is being made, and where research proposals are being evaluated for possible funding. After completing Project LEAD many advocates will wear many hats. Serving as grant reviewers for breast cancer research programs, members of local hospital boards, members of state organizations for programs such as the Breast and Cervical Cancer Protection Program to name a few. For scholarship information please go to www.stopbreastcancer.org and contact Becky Cwiek at bcwiek@mibcc.org for further information on this important training program. |
