Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program (DOD BCRP)

Department of Denfense BCRP logo
  • The goal of this program is to end breast cancer by funding innovative, high-impact research through a partnership of scientists and consumers. The Department of Defense BCRP was created in 1992 from a powerful grassroots effort led by the breast cancer advocacy community that resulted in a congressional appropriation of funds for breast cancer research.
    • Continued funding of this program depends on you!
    • The funding of this program requires annual Congressional legislation known as the Defense Appropriations Act, as it is not a line item in the DOD budget, but rather requires annual pressure from constituents to their elected Representative and Senators to continue to fund the DOD BCRP. MiBCC and NBCC members advocate for this every year, and you too can help; sign up for our email alerts.
