Education & Training
The MIBCC has worked with other organizations to increase the awareness and knowledge of their breast cancer advocates. We are active members of the National Breast Cancer Coalition in Washington DC and follow much of their agenda and recommendations. Some of our board members have a background in the area of medicine and science and have also completed a molecular biology and epidemiology program offered by NBCC called Project LEAD. This additional training allows our advocates to serve as consumer reviewers where breast cancer research funding is spent. It is important for us to have a seat at the table wherever public policy is being made both with our research institutions and legislators at a state and national level.
Scholarships are available for educational opportunities through the NBCC. Please contact us at MIBCC for additional information within the state of Michigan and how we can help you navigate this process.
