Breast Cancer Advocacy: A brief overview of breast cancer advocacy and how to get involved.

Speaker: Jane Perlmutter, Ph.D., MBA, long-time cancer survivor and active advocate. Much of her
advocacy has focused on clinical trials – ensuring that the patient voice is considered in design and
implementation of clinical trial protocols. She is especially interested in innovative trials designs that
can speed new treatments to patients who need them. The list of committees she has participated in
is extensive, including lead advocate on the I-SPY 2 and TAPUR trials. Jane is well-known and valued
by advocates and researchers across the country.
